Bedrijfsprofiel The International School of The Hague (ISH-Primary)

As stated elsewhere the ISH is, by virtue of being part of a Dutch national educational foundation, subsidised by the Dutch government. Though owned by the Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation, legally our Primary school works in co-operation and partnership with the Haagsche Schoolvereeniging. This subsidy allows us to offer international education at greatly reduced prices. As a whole school we are members of the European Council of International Schools. (ECIS) In addition the Primary school is a member of the group of the Dutch International Primary Schools (DIPS), a group of 9 international primary schools in the Netherlands who are linked with Dutch national schools and are thus government subsidised. We therefore have a lot we can learn from and share with each other, and amongst other things we share aspects of teacher induction and staff training. Our Primary curriculum is the International Primary Curriculum. (IPC) In addition we offer Dutch lessons to all children as part of helping them to fit into the local environment and culture.

We seek to maximise every child's academic and personal potential through understanding their specific needs and learning styles. We provide challenge within a strong support network and encourage independence, interdependence and initiative. Our school continues to grow at a pace, providing high quality international education for the international community of The Hague. Despite this growth, we continue to offer the personal touch - the familiarity and comfort that is usually felt within smaller family groups.
